MYGUK Education Terms of Service
Section A: School Based Music Tuition
Registration Process
Single, Paired & Group Tuition
1. The tutor can, upon prior request, provide an appropriate instrument for the tutee which can be used. Please see Section C: Hire-Purchase.
2. An adult parent or carer must book all sessions as a block of tuition which should be paid for in full before commencement of the first session of tutoring, unless otherwise stated. The tuition fee covers the Block/tuition term which is usually 10 weeks, unless otherwise stated. Please refer to your invoice for the payment details.
3. The tutee is responsible for attending the sessions and refunds cannot be given for absence from the sessions. Holidays taken during the school term are classed as an absence. Parents must make all the necessary arrangements to help their child remember to attend. Please note that Covid self-isolations are now classed as an absence. School trips/educational visits are also classed as an absence unless we receive prior notice from a parent/carer, giving 24hrs advance notice.
4. If the tutor needs to cancel the session due to unforeseen circumstances, then rearrangement of the session will be made in agreement with the terms.
5. The tutor cannot accept responsibility for sessions being cancelled by the education establishment without prior notice.
6. Refunds will not be made available once payment has been made, other than in exceptional circumstances.
7. Children who are absent from lessons due to class swimming lessons, off-site, will be classed as absent unless we receive prior notice of this from parents/carers. This will also include on-site activities such as Bikeability.
8. An emergency contact number must be available at the school for the child in case of any emergency requiring parental contact.
9. The tutor may terminate the agreement at any given point if deemed necessary, without refund.
10. As from September 2021, all parents are now required to give us written notification(email/letter) if their child will not be continuing their tuition in the following term. Notice of discontinuation must reach us before the last day of the final week of tuition, of the current term. We will remind all customers of this ‘Deadline Week.’ Failure to provide us with notice before the deadline window closes will result in the invoice for the proceeding term being sent to you and the requirement of you to pay half the cost of the tuition programme. This means that if we do not hear from you before the deadline window closes, we will assume that your child will be continuing with tuition in the proceeding term. .
11. We may take leave of absence during the school term time; however you will be notified of these dates on your invoice.
12. BOOKING FEE : Please note that this fee is non-refundable, unless we cannot allocate a place for your child within 12 months of the initial registration. Therefore, should you cancel your child's place once paying the booking fee and before commencement of the tuition programme then the booking fee is taken as your cancellation fee. The Booking Fee is an additional charge to the cost of the sessions. By completing the Booking Fee, you are also recognising and accepting the Terms of Service and wish to proceed with the activity once it has been invoiced to you.
Section B: Home/Online Tuition
Each booking is classed as a ‘service agreement’ meaning that the lesson has been previously scheduled to take place on the agreed date, time and place. Unless the stated time of notice has been given for the lesson cancellation, the lesson must be paid for at the agreed rate when the service was previously booked.
1. Times can be arranged with myself either face to face, by SMS or Email. Lessons cannot be directly arranged via social media.
2. A minimum of two hours notice should be given if you require a cancellation otherwise the lesson must be paid for as this service has been previously agreed.
3. If I have to cancel the lesson due to unforeseen circumstances then I will try to rearrange at the earliest possible convenience. I will always try to give as much notice as feasibly possible.
4. Lessons can be paid for per session or in a block booking if you wish to retain the same time each week.
5. Lessons may last between 20 - 30 minutes depending on which you choose and we have agreed. Full payment is required for the agreed length of the lesson.
6. An adult parent/carer or another adult acting in loco-parentis should be on the premises during the session of tuition.
7. Please ensure that you have completed a registration form so that I have your contact details.
8. I cannot guarantee that customers will be able to retain the same lesson time week on week although I will do my best to keep consistency.
9. I may take leave of absence during the school term time or school holiday time; however I will notify you of these dates unless emergency absence by myself is required.
2a. After any sickness/D&V illnesses in your household, please allow 48 hours before I arrive to deliver a lesson.
