In the Autumn Term 2019, we look forward to adding a new instrument to our extensive range of musical opportunities. The four hole (alto) ocarina is an ideal instrument for children even of a young age to learn.  Opportunities to progress to other woodwind instruments such as the flute or clarinet are possible from mastering the basics of finger movement on this small, compact instrument. 

For the purposes of health and hygiene, we would suggest that each child have their own ocarina.  These can be bought directly from us. 

The four-hole Ocarina is based upon the D major scale.  Children will learn how to play these notes on the Ocarina and also how to sight read them using easy to follow music.
